“The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a mother.” – St. Therésè of Lisieux
As we close another enriching Catholic Education Week, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the extraordinary displays of creativity, faith, and unity that our students and staff have showcased. This past week, we were blessed to witness our students leading a beautifully conducted virtual liturgy. Their poise and reverence brought the spirit of prayer into each of our classes, reminding us of the strength and serenity that comes from collective worship. The creativity continued with our folk dance performance. Both students and staff shone brightly, demonstrating not only their artistic talents but also their ability to collaborate and support one another in bringing joy and entertainment to our community. It was a performance that surely lifted our spirits! Furthermore, our school council led our STEM Night this past Thursday. What an amazing turnout it was as families participated in amazing activities. Thank you to our School Council for organizing and hosting the event.
Our “Journey with Jesus” walk was yet another moment where our students demonstrated their deep faith and commitment. This reflective journey brought us together in fellowship and reminded us of the spiritual path that we are all walking together. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue celebrating the many gifts that make our community thrive. Each student, each family, and each story contributes to the vibrant tapestry of our school. Together, we create an environment where learning, faith and creativity flourish. Thank you for your continued support and participation in our school’s journey. Let us carry forward the spirit of this week, cherishing and nurturing the gifts of every member of our community. A special shout-out to our Mother’s this weekend. We are Blessed to have so many Mothers in our lives. Wishing you all a wonderful and restful weekend.
Happy Mother’s Day!!!!!!

Thank you …
- our Folk Dancers have wrapped up their season with their final showcase. Excellent job and thank you to Mrs. Coughlan, Ms. Garvey and Mrs. Presslee for months of practicing!
- to our Pastoral Team for organizing our Journey with Jesus liturgy and walk this past Friday recognizing the theme We are called to love / Appelés à aimer!

- to all of the parents, grandparents and family members who were able to join us last week for Catholic Education Week. We are so grateful for our home-school-parish partnership as we work together to support all of our students in their academic and faith journeys. Catholic Education continues to be a blessing and privilege in Ontario, and here at Saint Timothy Catholic Elementary School we are grateful to be able to pray, learn and play together in light of Jesus’ teachings and our gospel values. We will continue to live out our calling to love – as people of hope, as people of faith, as people of mercy, as people of justice, and as people of joy.
- to our students who we celebrated for making strides in April to be a “Global Citizenship and Sustainability.” Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents with our community!
- to our parents and families for your support with our popcorn sales. Courtesy of our school council, many of our students are enjoying a healthy and delicious snack every Friday. Furthermore, thank you to Mrs. Presslee and our intermediate student volunteers for the organization and delivery of popcorn every Friday.

If you have any questions or need additional information about the fundraising request, please contact Yvette Thorne at thorne@wcdsb.ca.

- With spring weather upon us, we are noticing some children coming to school wearing crocs and slides. We want to remind everyone about the importance of safe footwear for all students. Both in the school and outside at recess, crocs, sandals, slides and flip-flops are not safe shoes for students to be wearing. For the safety of everyone, we need your support and assistance in ensuring that your child is coming to school with closed-toe and closed-heeled shoes.
- Now that the weather is nice, many parents who are home during the school day are enjoying the mid-day sun for a neighbourhood walk. As you enjoy the sunshine, please avoid coming onto the school property during your walk as you are a stranger to other children. Our Saint Timothy teacher supervisors will be approaching any adults on the yard during outdoor play times to give them a reminder to stay on the paths outside/off school property. Please share this message with any extended family and neighbours as well so that everyone in our neighbourhood can work to help keep the children safe at school.
- Good luck this week to our Intermediate soccer team, participating in the St. Mary Family of Schools Tournament at Budd Park. A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Matesa and Mr. Carvalho for all their work in getting everyone ready!
- Congratulations to Lucas Conte on being recognized as the WCDSB Saint Timothy Beacons of Hope award winner. Your dedication, kindness and unwavering spirit uplift us all: https://twitter.com/i/status/1787537443211678113

A Blessing for Mothers
Lord, thank you for the gift of our mothers.
Thank you for her love and care for us,
for her sacrifices for us, and for all she does for us.
I ask that you bless her abundantly.
May You grant her strength of mind and body,
peace of heart and mind,
and a faith that is strong and unyielding.
Please help her to grow in strength of body, mind, and spirit,
and to grow in wisdom and grace as the years go by.
May you protect and watch over her always and keep her safe from harm.
May she grow more in love with You each day that passes
Amen.
